THYROID HOME BLOOD TEST

Your thyroid plays a vital role in regulating metabolism, energy production, and overall hormonal balance. Understanding your thyroid function is essential for identifying potential issues that could impact your health. Our Thyroid Blood Test measures 5 key markers to provide a thorough overview of your thyroid health, helping detect disorders such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and autoimmune thyroid diseases.

This comprehensive test measures the following biomarkers:

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): A hormone produced by the pituitary gland that regulates thyroid function. High or low levels can indicate an imbalance in thyroid activity.

Free T4 (Thyroxine): The primary thyroid hormone that influences many body functions, including metabolism and energy levels.

Free T3 (Triiodothyronine): The active form of thyroid hormone that helps regulate body temperature, energy, and metabolism.

Anti-TG (Thyroglobulin Antibodies): These antibodies can indicate autoimmune thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease.

Anti-TPO (Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies): Elevated levels suggest an autoimmune response that could interfere with thyroid function, often linked to Hashimoto’s disease or other thyroid disorders.

WHY GET TESTED

Thyroid disorders are relatively common, especially among females, but they can also affect males. These conditions can be difficult to diagnose and are often mistaken for other health issues. An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), where the thyroid does not produce enough hormones, is associated with symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, depression, hair loss, and sensitivity to cold. On the other hand, an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), where the thyroid produces excessive hormones, can cause weight loss, anxiety, mood swings, difficulty sleeping, sensitivity to heat, muscle weakness, itchiness, and a frequent need to urinate.
